Quantafuel seeks new CEO
Quantafuel is a key enabler for the circular plastic economy and is at an early stage in its development as a company, with its first, full-scale chemical recycling plant under completion in Denmark and with new plants in the pipeline. Quantafuel’s strategy has been to get the first plant in production, standardize in a modular concept built by EPC providers and rapidly deploy production capacity in a JV structure.
The company has built strong partnerships and alliances with global industrial companies that are a strategic competitive advantage for further expansion. The partnership model enables high degree of scalability and long-term off-take agreements, illustrated through Quantafuel’s well-established partnerships with BASF, Vitol and Kirkbi. In order to get control of the raw material, the company has moved upstream in the value chain through the acquisition of Geminor and Replast.
Quantafuel has also acquired IP and licensing rights from the catalyst development partner Hulteberg Chemistry & Engineering AB. Through these transactions, Quantafuel has gained full ownership of all its proprietary technology and has established a new Quantafuel R&D centre in Malmø, Sweden.
The new CEO will lead Quantafuel through the next industrialization and growth phase. Growth will happen through organic growth, vertical acquisitions, raw material and logistic, new technology and geographical access. But just as important, the new CEO has an important task in building the necessary capabilities into the organization for joint strategy, implementation and operations.
