Pilot plant in Kristiansund

Quantafuel’s pilot plant in Kristiansund is one of the next generation PtL plants.

These synergies will be further developed for the future plant, providing a substantial increase in recycled fractions compared to stand-alone plants for both mechanical and chemical recycling.

Quantafuel’s pilot plant in Kristiansund is part of the next generation PtL plants. The plant is co-located with Replast’s facilities for mechanical recycling of plastic waste.

Results from the pilot plant will be used as the basis for the full-scale plant to be built on the same premises. Setting up the pilot plant at Replast’s facilities ensures unequivocal quality of plastic feedstock, utilising Replast’s facilities and expertise in plastic waste handling.

These synergies will be further developed for the future plant, providing a substantial increase in recycled fractions compared to stand-alone plants for both mechanical and chemical recycling.

The chemically-recycled products produced in Kristiansund will be used by BASF to produce new plastic products.
